Our Ethos & Values

Everything we do flows from a clear set of values rooted in Islamic tradition and a commitment to excellence.

What We Stand For

Daffodil Grammar School for Girls was founded on a simple but powerful conviction: that Muslim girls in Britain deserve a school that takes both their faith and their intellect seriously. We exist to prove that these two commitments are not in tension — they are, in fact, inseparable.

Our ethos draws deeply from the Islamic educational tradition, which has always held the pursuit of knowledge as an obligation and a form of worship. We believe that an educated woman who knows her faith, understands the world, and possesses strong character is one of the most powerful forces for good in any community.

At Daffodil, we do not ask our students to compartmentalise their faith. Islamic Studies and Arabic sit alongside Mathematics and Science in our timetable — not as optional extras, but as core components of a full education.

Taqwa — God-Consciousness

We nurture an awareness of Allah in all that we do. Our students are taught that knowledge, character, and conduct are acts of worship.

Ilm — Love of Knowledge

Islamic tradition exalts the pursuit of knowledge. We inspire intellectual curiosity and a genuine love of learning in every student.

Adab — Excellence of Character

Knowledge without character is incomplete. We develop adab — respect, humility, and moral integrity — as inseparable from academic achievement.

Khidmah — Service

We prepare students to contribute to their families, communities, and wider society — to be women who give back.

Courage

We want our students to stand for what is right, to speak with confidence, and to navigate challenges with faith and resilience.

Excellence

We hold ourselves and our students to high standards — in work, in conduct, in relationships, and in character.

"
Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.
