Headteacher's Welcome
A personal message from Mr Stephen Montford
Mr Stephen Montford
Headteacher
"Welcome to Daffodil Grammar School for Girls — a school built on purpose, values, and the belief that every girl deserves an outstanding education."
It is my privilege to lead Daffodil Grammar School for Girls. We are a young school with a clear vision: to provide Muslim girls in London with an education that is academically excellent, spiritually grounding, and personally transformative.
Too often, families feel they must choose between academic rigour and Islamic values. At Daffodil, we refuse that compromise. Our students follow a demanding curriculum, taught by committed teachers, in an environment where their identity is celebrated rather than managed.
We are proud to be an all-girls school. The evidence is clear: girls in single-sex environments develop greater academic confidence, are more likely to pursue STEM subjects, and report higher levels of self-esteem. We take this responsibility seriously and design our school accordingly.
Our school is currently at Key Stage 3 — Years 7, 8, and 9 — and we are intentionally focused on getting these foundational years right. The habits of mind, the love of learning, the confidence in one's identity and faith that we develop in these years will shape our students for the rest of their lives.
I invite you to come and see Daffodil for yourself. Meet our staff, speak with our students, and experience the culture we are building. I believe you will find a school that is serious about its mission and genuinely proud of its community.
If you have any questions, my door is always open.
